Baseball Game Preview: Monarch Coyotes vs. Frederick Golden Eagles

The Monarch Coyotes will head out to challenge the Frederick Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monarch is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Monarch is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairview on Wednesday.

Charlie Pearce was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Chase Knudsen, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Frederick played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with a 14-9 victory over Centaurus. The win continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

Nate Rapp made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Rapp was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. He is becoming a predictor of Frederick's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 2-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Dom LeFevre was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Satterly, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Frederick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Monarch's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Frederick, their record now sits at 5-7.
