Basketball Recap: Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Takes a Loss

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They took a blow against the Annandale Cardinals, falling 59-32. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while the Cardinals are ranked 59th).

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Annandale, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted will face off against Dassel-Cokato at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Annandale, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Annandale Cardinals duke it out with the Glencoe-Silver Lake Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Glencoe-Silver Lake will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Annandale surely won't give up without a fight.
