Recap: Maple Heights Mustangs vs. Garfield Heights Bulldogs
In what's become a running theme this season, the Maple Heights Mustangs gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Garfield Heights with a sharp 48-23 win. The victory was just what Maple Heights needed coming off of a 55-20 defeat in their prior matchup.
Maple Heights' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooklyn Dillard led the charge by scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Treasure Cistrunk was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Maple Heights' victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Garfield Heights, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maple Heights won't have much time to rest: their next match is against East Tech at 5:00 p.m. on February 8th. As for Garfield Heights, they will head out on the road to square off against Cleveland Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
