The Christopher Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Prospect Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Christopher barely beat Pioneer the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Mustangs on Monday. 12 seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Christopher let Audrina Cabanlit and Melissa Lugo run wild. Cabanlit scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Lugo scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Christopher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Prospect gave up the first runs last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Oak Grove with a sharp 12-1 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Christopher's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Prospect, their record now sits at 8-4.
Christopher might still be hurting after the 12-6 loss they got from Prospect when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
