Baseball Recap: Osceola Has No Trouble Against Boca Ciega

Osceola gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against the Boca Ciega Pirates as they made off with a 10-4 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Luke Pembleton looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Vincent Ferrell, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for Osceola: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Daly, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Osceola pushed their record up to 13-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Boca Ciega, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

Coming up, Osceola will challenge River Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Royal Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Boca Ciega, they will take on IMG Academy Silver at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ascenders will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
