Salida won the last time they faced Buena Vista and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Salida Spartans took down the Buena Vista Demons 58-40.

Defeat or not, Buena Vista got some senior leadership from Julian Lopez-Olsen and Noah Bearss. Lopez-Olsen posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Bearss earned eight points and five steals. That's the most steals Lopez-Olsen has posted since back in January. Landon Pace was another key player, putting up eight points.

Salida's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Buena Vista, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.

Looking ahead, Salida won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Simla at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Simla's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Salida has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Buena Vista, they will face off against Lamar at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Buena Vista is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.
