It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mandarin can now relate to. They fell just short of the Oakleaf Knights by a score of 17-14 on Friday. The matchup was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Mustangs couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the defeat, Mandarin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kemari Spriggs made 16 total tackles (1.5 for loss) and snagged an interception. The dominant performance also gave Knox Annis a new career-high in rushing yards (67). Mandarin also got a significant boost from Shaunqueze Foster, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
