Hammond Central extended their postseason success on Friday against Hammond Morton. They strolled past the Hammond Morton Governors with points to spare, taking the game 67-51. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won nine matches in a row.

Ciyah Thomas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7-for-12 on her way to 23 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hammond Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Valencia Miller, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Hammond Morton's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylah KP Patterson, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 25 boards. Patterson has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 45 times she's played. De'Zyrra Willingham was another key player, going 6-for-14 to rack up 13 points and seven boards.

Hammond Central's win bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Hammond Morton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-6.

Hammond Central has already played their next contest, a 30-26 victory against Lake Central on the 8th. Hammond Morton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
