League recap: Monroe rises, Clarke County falls in league standings

A Bull Run league recap: 3/20/13

Monroe made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from sixth to second place in A Bull Run thanks to a 1-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Clarke County fell hardest in the standings, dropping from first all the way to fifth place after going 1-1 in the past week. Woodstock Central (1-1, 1-0) is now in first place.

Madison County outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its two total wins led the league. The Mountaineers beat Orange County 6-4 and Luray 8-7.

The Eagles boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

There were three hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. They were led by Evan Snapp, who hit .800 this week (4-for-5).

Evan Snapp drove in five runs for Clarke County over the past seven days. He has six RBIs this season, tops in the league.



Snapp drove in four runners as the Eagles defeated Wood 9-8 on Thursday. He went 3-for-4 and scored one run.
