Football Preview: Coudersport Falcons vs. Smethport Hubbers
The Coudersport Falcons will face off against the Smethport Hubbers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Coudersport will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
Last Friday, Coudersport took a blow against Ridgway/Johnsonburg, falling 45-16. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Coudersport got top-tier performance from Ethan Ott, who rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Ott's longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Smethport brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They put the hurt on Bucktail with a sharp 46-20 win on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hubbers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jonah Ganoe had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, and also picked up 43 receiving yards. Owen Rounsville was another key player, picking up 34 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Smethport was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're rushing yard total in three consecutive games.

Coudersport now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Smethport, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
