The Crestview Cougars will be taking part in a tournament against the Bucyrus Redmen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Crestview's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Central Christian. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Drew Spoerr made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Crestview is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 9-12 otherwise. Spoerr was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Crestview got a big performance out of Kayn Patton, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. The Cougars are undefeated when Patton posts two or more runs, but 6-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tyson Ringler, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bucyrus). They came out on top against Mansfield Christian by a score of 10-5 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Redmen considering their two-run performance the contest before.
The team relied heavily on Lincoln Blizzard, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of London Wade, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Crestview's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-13. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Bucyrus, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-19.
Crestview's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Cougars have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Bucyrus, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Crestview continue to outrun the ball?
