Basketball Recap: Dale County Takes a Loss

Dale County and Orange Beach squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Dale County had to settle for second. They took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orange Beach Makos. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Makos from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Dale County still got an impressive performance from Junior Smith, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 16 boards. Smith is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Weed, who posted nine points.

Dale County's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Orange Beach, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season.

Dale County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Orange Beach, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-34 loss against Jackson on the 18th.
