Baseball Recap: Moriarty's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Moriarty scored first but ultimately less than Pojoaque Valley in their game on Friday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (8-7), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Elks/Elkettes earlier this season, when they won 8-7.

Moriarty got a good showing from Scott Batie, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Batie has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Weston Cooley and Nick Kamplain did some serious damage despite the final result: Cooley went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base, while Kamplain went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Cooley is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Raiden Scribner, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Moriarty's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-12. As for Pojoaque Valley, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-19.

As of now, neither Moriarty nor the Elks/Elkettes have any future games scheduled.
