Softball Recap: Albertville Aggies vs. Ider Hornets

After flying high against Asbury on Friday, Albertville came back down to earth. The Albertville Aggies fell just short of the Ider Hornets by a score of 8-7 on Saturday.

Adison Pierce put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Henley Kilpatrick was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Katy Grace Willoughby, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Albertville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Ider, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Albertville will head out on the road to face off against Coosa Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ider, they will take on Asbury in a tournament on Saturday. Ider is facing Asbury at the right time seeing as Asbury is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
