Softball Recap: Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Comes Up Short

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dassel-Cokato Chargers. If the Lakers were looking for revenge after losing 7-4 to the Chargers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Aubrey Barnes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Smith, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Dassel-Cokato, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-3.
