Basketball Recap: Early County Comes Up Short

Early County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were beaten by the Troup County Tigers 59-30. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-12.

Bernycia Haynes was Early County's leading scorer, having posted seven points. London Sherman held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

As for Troup County, their win bumped their record up to 3-1. The contest marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.

Troup County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Soteria Denson out in front who posted three points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Denson also posted an assist, marking her first of the season. Madiyln Pennington was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Early County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-16 defeat against Macon County on the 29th. As for Troup County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 48-40 victory against Dothan on the 29th.
