The Bexley Lions will head out to take on the Whitehall-Yearling Rams at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Bexley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Bexley took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Madison Christian 15-3.

Zoe Lemon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Davaney Prophet was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyra Duffee, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Bexley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Whitehall-Yearling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Worthington Christian, falling 26-15. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (13), the Rams still had to take the loss.
Aubrie Deschaine and Kylie Whistle did some serious damage despite the final result: Deschaine went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Whistle went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Autumn Jones was another key player, earning one run and three stolen bases.
Bexley's record is now 5-11. As for Whitehall-Yearling, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Everything went Bexley's way against Whitehall-Yearling in their previous meeting on April 9th, as Bexley made off with a 17-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
