Basketball Recap: Northridge Starts Season with Victory at Home

Northridge took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 69-58 victory over the Liberty Union Lions. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 63-58 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Ava Travis was nothing short of spectacular: she shot 43% from the field en route to 30 points along with seven steals and three blocks. That's the most blocks she has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cora Hill, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 17 points in addition to four steals and four blocks.

Northridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 40-27 victory against East Knox on the 25th. As for Liberty Union, they have also already played their next matchup, a 55-50 win against Amanda-Clearcreek on the 25th.
