Spring Valley had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They blew past the Buckhannon-Upshur Bucaneers 15-2. The result was nothing new for the Timberwolves, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Gage Roberts tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Caiden Lovejoy was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brody Spencer, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Spring Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buckhannon-Upshur only posted a batting average of .273.

Spring Valley's record now sits at 21-8. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Valley will welcome Winfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Robert C. Byrd at 5:00 p.m. The Bucaneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
