Basketball Recap: Paris Takes a Loss

Paris lost against Montgomery County back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Paris Greyhounds came up short against the Montgomery County Indians, falling 83-58. The Greyhounds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-26.

Montgomery County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dawson Gentry out in front who went 7 of 14 en route to 20 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. Those 20 points gave Gentry a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyce Jarvis, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Paris and nudges their season record down to 7-9. As for Montgomery County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Paris has already played their next game (against George Rogers Clark), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Montgomery County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 0-0 draw against Campbell County on the 23rd.
