Volleyball Recap: Lakeside Knights vs. Osborne Bulldogs
Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Osborne Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss two weeks ago.
Lakeside was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22.
Their offense was headlined by Marley McCoy and Jaycee Remus, who picked up five kills apiece. Remus really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with eight. Addison Schmitt controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Osborne found their leader in sophomore Gentrie Riner, who had 11 digs. Riner has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.
Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Osborne, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-10.
