Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain House Mustangs vs. Lathrop Spartans

The Mountain House Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Lathrop Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain House is coming into the match hot, having won their last ten games.

Mountain House will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Manteca, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Buffaloes with a sharp 3-0 win on Monday.

The victory didn't come easy: Manteca scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Lathrop got the win against Grace Davis on Monday by a conclusive 3-0. Lathrop hasn't had any issues with Grace Davis recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-8, 25-13.

Mountain House better focus on containing Mario Luna and Gabriel Faalii as the pair were huge in Lathrop's win. Luna had 22 assists and two aces, while Faalii had eight kills, four digs, and one block. Faalii is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least six every time he's taken the court this season.

Mountain House's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-4. As for Lathrop, their win bumped their record up to 22-7.

Mountain House beat Lathrop 3-1 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
