Softball Preview: West Valley Eagles vs. Anderson Cubs

West Valley is 10-0 against Anderson since April of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The West Valley Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Anderson Cubs at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in West Valley's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Anderson has been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road.

In what's become a running theme this season, West Valley gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past University Prep 8-2.

Aubree Wertz was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Wertz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Wertz was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylee Jaramillo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Bentley Chaffin, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Anderson lost 13-1 to Lassen on Wednesday.
