Whitefield Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Aquinas Fightin' Irish 48-21 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the WolfPack, who have now won seven matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.

Whitefield Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Hollingsworth led the charge by rushing for 130 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. Amos Robinson also helped out as he racked up 112 rushing yards.

Another reason for the win was Whitefield Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. John Durden was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making four total tackles, and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Whitefield Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Aquinas, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Coming up, Whitefield Academy will venture away from home to face off against Calvary Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The WolfPack will need to watch out since the Cavaliers have now posted at least 31 points in their last eight contests. Aquinas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
