Soccer Game Preview: Bentley vs. Head-Royce

Bentley is 0-8-2 against Head-Royce since October of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Phoenix will take on the Jayhawks at 2:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Bentley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Sonoma Academy.

Meanwhile, Head-Royce faced International in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Jayhawks put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for Head-Royce, who have now won ten contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Head-Royce has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those eight matchups. As for Bentley, their win bumped their record up to 12-3-1.

Bentley might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Head-Royce when the teams last played last Thursday. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Phoenix were down 4-0.
