Volleyball Recap: Brimfield Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Anja Nelson and Josie Wiewel

Brimfield was the 2-0 winner over Knoxville when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell 2-0 to the Blue Bullets on Saturday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by exactly two points. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Brimfield had strong showings from Josie Wiewel, who had six digs and two aces, and Anja Nelson, who had nine digs and two aces.

Brimfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Knoxville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Brimfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] on the 27th. As for Knoxville, they have also already played their next match, a 1-1 tie against Kewanee on the 27th.
