Baseball Recap: Pompano Beach Takes a Loss

Pompano Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cooper City Cowboys. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cowboys this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in February.

Pompano Beach saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathon Caianiello, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Pompano Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Cooper City, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Pompano Beach will challenge Deerfield Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Pompano Beach's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Deerfield Beach's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cooper City, they will face off against Golden Gate at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
