Recap: North Posey Vikings vs. Princeton Tigers

If the North Posey Vikings were feeling good off their 44-21 takedown of the Pike Central Chargers last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Posey fell 47-37 to Princeton on Tuesday. North Posey has not had much luck with Princeton recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

North Posey lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mallory Luigs, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazalyn Ward, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Princeton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Azaryon Wesley led the charge by scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Nya Dame, who scored ten points.

North Posey's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Princeton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Posey will square off against Tell City at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Princeton, they will head out on the road to face off against Pike Central at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pike Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Princeton is ranked 57th).
