Baseball Game Preview: Maclay Marauders vs. Seabreeze Sandcrabs

The Maclay Marauders will take on the Seabreeze Sandcrabs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Maclay fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Arnold on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Marlins by a score of 4-3. The Marauders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Seabreeze's offense. They came up short against Leon on Wednesday, falling 10-0.

Seabreeze saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rustin Hurley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Even though they lost, Seabreeze hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Seabreeze's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Maclay, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
