Recap: Hibriten Panthers vs. East Lincoln Mustangs
The Hibriten Panthers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 59-48 win over East Lincoln. For Hibriten, this counts as revenge for the 59-29 loss East Lincoln walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2017.
East Lincoln lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Abbie Hege, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Emma Montanari, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Hibriten's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for East Lincoln, their loss ended a 22-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-1.
Hibriten will be home for the holidays to greet Lincolnton at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Lincolnton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday. East Lincoln will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Norman Charter at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th.
