Preview: Biglerville Canners vs. York Catholic Fighting Irish
Biglerville is 0-8 against York Catholic since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Biglerville Canners will head out on the road to face off against the York Catholic Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Biglerville and four for York Catholic.
Last Friday, Biglerville took a serious blow against Littlestown, falling 49-14. Biglerville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.
Although Biglerville took the loss, they still got scores from Tavian Mcauliffe and Leonardo Martinez.
Meanwhile, York Catholic fell victim to Fairfield's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 21-0 walloping at the hands of the Knights.
Biglerville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for York Catholic, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Biglerville came up short against York Catholic in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 13-7. Can Biglerville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
