Baseball Recap: Hialeah Gardens Victorious

Hialeah Gardens lost to Miami Beach back in March of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Gladiators won by a run and slipped past the Hi-Tides 4-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Gladiators as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Anthony Alvarez looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Dereck Alvarado was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Hialeah Gardens' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Salazar, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Hialeah Gardens' record is now 4-8. As for Miami Beach, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Hialeah Gardens will venture away from home to challenge Dr. Krop at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Miami Beach, they will host Mater Lakes Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
