Recap: Copley Indians vs. Revere Minutemen

The Copley Indians entered their tilt with the Revere Minutemen with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Copley enjoyed a cozy 51-36 victory over Revere on Friday. Given Copley's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Revere is ranked 294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Copley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izzy Callaway, who scored 20 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Callaway has scored at least a third of Copley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kami Ayoup, who scored 16 points.

Copley's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Revere, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Copley will face off against Waynedale at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Revere will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Chippewa at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. Chippewa will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
