Volleyball Recap: Westbrook-Walnut Grove Takes a Loss

If Westbrook-Walnut Grove was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Edgerton on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chargers fell 2-0 to the Fillmore Central Falcons on Friday.

Westbrook-Walnut Grove's offense was headlined by Leah Carter and Carlie Ross, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Hadley Jenniges and her seven assists. Ross also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Natasha Wahl, racking up two apiece.

Josie Corson was the offensive standout of the game as she had 15 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Westbrook-Walnut Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3-1. As for Fillmore Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
