Softball Recap: Mountain View Spartans vs. Milpitas Trojans

Mountain View was the 7-4 winner over Milpitas when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Mountain View Spartans fell just short of the Milpitas Trojans by a score of 7-6 on Friday.

Caroline ` Kim spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Tabby Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Black, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a double.

On Milpitas' side, Sophia Delgado was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Chloe Cabrera was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Mountain View's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Milpitas, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
