Basketball Recap: Catholic Central Comes Up Short

Catholic Central lost against Cedarville back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Catholic Central Irish were dealt a 51-23 loss at the hands of the Cedarville Indians. The Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Catholic Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Liliana Roberts, who went 5 of 12 en route to 12 points and five boards, and Dayonna Dearmond, who posted two points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Dearmond is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played.

Even though they lost, Catholic Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Catholic Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Cedarville, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-7.

Catholic Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-16 defeat against Greenon on the 22nd. Cedarville has also already played their next game, a 49-45 victory against Greeneview on the 18th.
