Softball Recap: Creekview Has No Trouble Against Turner

Creekview lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Turner, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. Everything went the Creekview Mustangs' way against the Turner Lions on Friday as the Creekview Mustangs made off with a 14-0 victory. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 6-4 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Kelis Lee was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off three triples, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Kaelani Rogers was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. MacKenzie Martin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Creekview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Creekview has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Turner and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Creekview and Turner could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Creekview will challenge Wakeland at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday down 198 places (304 vs. 106). Similarly, Turner (ranked 743rd) will meet Lone Star (ranked 266th) at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
