Baseball Game Preview: Cheney Tech Beavers vs. Ellis RVT Eagles

The Cheney Tech Beavers will head out on the road to challenge the Ellis RVT Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Cheney Tech is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

Cheney Tech's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Goodwin RVT 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Cheney Tech got a massive performance out of Morgan Salkeld, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Salkeld is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Marrero, who went 2-for-3 with four runs and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Ellis RVT's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Griswold by a score of 4-3.

Cheney Tech's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Ellis RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Everything went Cheney Tech's way against Ellis RVT in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Cheney Tech made off with a 15-5 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
