Basketball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

If Lincoln was riding high fresh off their 81-55 takedown of Bullard on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clovis North Broncos on Saturday. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Lincoln lost, don't look at Tre Simmons. Despite the final result, he shot 53% from the field en route to 19 points and seven rebounds. Jagger Merolla was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Clovis North, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Lincoln will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Christian Brothers at 8:00 p.m. on the 18th. As for Clovis North, they will take on Modesto Christian on Thursday.
