Basketball Recap: Chase Hibbard Key Part of a Team Effort in Wolves Win

Timber Creek won the last time they faced Boone and things went their way on Friday too. The Timber Creek Wolves strolled past the Boone Braves with points to spare, taking the game 74-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Timber Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chase Hibbard led the charge by going 7 of 10 on his way to 21 points. The dominant performance gave Hibbard a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Taylor, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points.

Despite the loss, Boone still got an impressive performance from Connor Summer, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points. Joan Orta was another key player, putting up ten points.

Timber Creek has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Boone, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Timber Creek and Boone could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Timber Creek (ranked 225th) will meet Winter Park (ranked 50th) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Boone (ranked 246th) will meet University (ranked 88th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
