Baseball Recap: Dallas Academy Bulldogs vs. Heritage Christian Academy Lions
Dallas Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Heritage Christian Academy Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-4 back in March.
William Russell was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Russell was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Russell wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sam White, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Dallas Academy's record now sits at 0-11. As for Heritage Christian Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-6 record.
Dallas Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Victory Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on the 28th.
