Ashe County's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Alleghany Trojans a 10-0 shutout. With that win, the Huskies brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Rylee Williams was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Caitlin Wood, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Ashe County's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Alleghany, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashe County will welcome Watauga at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Alleghany, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Airy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
