Football Recap: Burney Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Burney can now relate to. They came up short against the Loyalton Grizzlies on Saturday, falling 40-20. The contest was a close 8-6 at the break, but unfortunately for the Raiders it sure didn't stay that way.

When it comes to explaining why Burney lost, don't look at Killian Biles. Despite the final result, he rushed for 132 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 93 yards and one touchdown on only seven passes. Biles really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run. 83 of Biles' passing yards were hauled in by Liam Von Schalscha, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Loyalton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brysyn Lake out in front who rushed for 27 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 54 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Lake a new career-high in passer rating (120.8). Justus Emsoff was another key player, gaining 86 total yards.

Burney's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Loyalton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Burney does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Loyalton, they will take on Hayfork at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies will need to watch out since the Timberjacks have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
