Basketball Game Preview: Vandalia Christian Vikings vs. Tabernacle Christian Conquerors

Vandalia Christian is on a 13-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, Tabernacle Christian a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Monday. The Vandalia Christian Vikings will host the Tabernacle Christian Conquerors at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Vandalia Christian is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Gospel Light Christian on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Vandalia Christian was dealt a 67-29 defeat at the hands of Gospel Light Christian. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 605th, while Gospel Light Christian are ranked 250th).

The losing side was boosted by Izzi Settle, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Buie, who scored four points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Tabernacle Christian came up short against Shining Light Baptist Academy on Thursday and fell 67-59.

Tabernacle Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Vandalia Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-20.

Vandalia Christian was dealt a bruising 93-57 loss at the hands of Tabernacle Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Vandalia Christian was down 50-23.
