Baseball Game Preview: Eastern Ramblers vs. Lackey Chargers

The Eastern Ramblers will head out to take on the Lackey Chargers at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Eastern took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over Roosevelt. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Ramblers considering their two-run performance the game before.

Aaron Williams was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Foskett, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Lackey's offense. They came up short against La Plata on Monday, falling 11-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Eastern pushed their record up to 8-4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Lackey, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
