Bluestem has no trouble against Cherryvale

The Bluestem Lions had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 62-37 margin over Cherryvale. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-14.

Despite the loss, Cherryvale still got an impressive performance from Carsen Ellis, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Fox, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.

Bluestem's win ended a 14-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10. As for Cherryvale, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bluestem will square off against Caney Valley on Tuesday. Caney Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 189 points over their last three matchups. As for Cherryvale, they will head out on the road to take on Erie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Erie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cherryvale in Kansas (Erie is ranked 143rd, while Cherryvale is ranked 351st).
