Baseball Recap: Jimtown Finds Playoff Glory Versus Bremen

Jimtown had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Bremen Lions with a sharp 10-1 victory on Monday. Considering the Jimmies have won 11 matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Dalton Cook made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Broderic Kaler, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Connor Christman, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Jimtown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bremen only posted a batting average of .200.

Jimtown is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bremen, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-10.

As of now, neither Jimtown nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
