Hewitt-Trussville faced Oak Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Eagles who were credited with the win. The Oak Mountain Eagles got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies' two. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Oak Mountain this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in March.

Hewitt-Trussville has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7-1 record this season. As for Oak Mountain, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hewitt-Trussville will host Mountain Brook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Brook's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Hewitt-Trussville's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Oak Mountain, they will square off against Briarwood Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Briarwood Christian will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last.
