Recap: Forestburg Longhorns vs. Slidell Greyhounds

The Forestburg Longhorns came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 49-38 victory over Slidell. That's two games straight that Forestburg has won by exactly 11 points.

Forestburg found their leader in underclassman Brenna Briles, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Briles has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylee Briles, who scored seven points along with three steals.

Forestburg is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Slidell, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10.

Forestburg will head out on the road to face off against Midway at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Midway: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home, while Forestburg has snatched up eight consecutive wins on the road. Slidell will take on Prairie Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Prairie Valley has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
