Recap: Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Concordia Cardinals
The Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down Concordia 54-36. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
It was another big night for Vashon Carter, who rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Jordan Greatting, who threw for 124 yards and three touchdowns.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alexander Jones, who threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Jones is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Wolfmueller, who picked up 106 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Round Rock Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Concordia, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Round Rock Christian Academy will take on Faith Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Faith Academy is ranked 127th, while Round Rock Christian Academy is ranked 138th). As for Concordia, they will be playing at home against Holy Trinity Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Holy Trinity Catholic comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
